Ben Begg Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 We are looking for 4 nights in NYC for 5/11 to 5/15. We have a budget of up to $140 a night and this is outside the prices that HOTWIRE are offering. What do people suggest? Try a 2* on Priceline in Manhatten or try somewhere else?
thereuare Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 We really don't recommend bidding for the lower star rated hotels in NYC... there may be some lower rated hotels which are fine, but there are likely others which most certainly would not be... and you can't choose which type you will get with an opaque purchase. This is a very expensive time in NYC, and i suspect you won't likely find anything acceptable within your price range thru conventional means... have you considered staying outside the city and commuting in each day (although i haven't looked if this will help for this particular stay, and this will cause you to lose a lot of the 'nyc feel/vibe') or lower your budget on a different leg of your trip in order to increase your budget for NYC? Ben Begg Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 Yes we have thought of staying in Brooklyn and commuting in..any ideas of a good place? or else over in NJ at the Four Points by Sheraton, is that area OK? We did consider the Latham Hotel, they have Share Bathroom Rooms for $120 a night at that time.
thereuare Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 I think the Jersey City waterfront area is the best in order to commute into the city, followed by the Secaucus area... both in NJ.
