nanle98 Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Hi, I've been on this site for hours and am still not exactly sure how to use priceline/hotwire. I guess I need things in more simple terms! I'm looking to go to Vegas April 25-28 and want to book a room. I want to be on the strip, central hopefully. I'm hoping for a 4* hotel (I think these sites usually list Paris/Caesars?) for 4*, I'm hoping to get either of these for about 200/night, I'm not sure how you figure out which hotel it is? With Priceline, am I not able to know where the hotel will be at all? I'm so confused! Or the other option is for about 110/night central strip but don't want bill's and want it to be on the strip... Am I able to request it, is it better to go through priceline or hotwire. On a sidenote, on priceline when I bid, it asks for my credit card info right away, if I put it in, and they accept, will I be charged without even knowing some of the hotel details? Also if possible, can someone help me with Niagra Falls March 29 and Toronto March 30 (downtown) both about 4*'s and about 100/night? I'm so sorry if these are "go help yourself!" questions, but I've been trying to figure out how to do it, and am just getting confused and frustrated now. I'm sorry for being a bother!Thank you so much for your help!
bbbb Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 I can't remember the last time one of these hotels (Paris/Caesars) were reported to the board as a win. Most of the time Planet Hollywood, Westin, Luxor and now I would say there is a good chance of Monte Carlo coming up. Hotwire has what looks to be the Westin for your dates for $99 per night. So if you use PL to bid I would keep your bids under $99. When you use PL you will get no info until after your bid is accepted at witch time the hotel name will pop up on your screen. Please start a new topic for your Niagra Falls stay.

nanle98 Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 Ok, I've spend a couple more hours on this website, and have a better understanding, thank you so much. I guess my original post is basically useless/pointless right now, so feel free to delete it, I have no idea how to... haha...
nanle98 Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 Hi, I don't have a lot of experience with Priceline so I was wondering if 184/night for a 5* for North LV Strip was a good deal?I bid 135 for North strip and they countered with 184I then added some other areas and rebid adding $10 or so, and got rejected each time. Would I be offered 184 ever again? Thanks for your help.I don't know what my max bid is, I'm hoping for under 175, do you think that's realistic?Or else, for north/south strip 4*, how much do you think it'll be on average for those dates, and the most likely hotel? If you have any ideas that'd be great, and I understand it's just an idea, I could possibly get anything in that area. Thank you so much!
nanle98 Posted August 6, 2009 Author Report Posted August 6, 2009 Hi, I'm sorry I didn't follow up, we ended up staying in the room with our cousins that booked a package with westjet @ MGM, it was great, cause it was free!
