Hello, was wanting to help on what prices I should bid for a 5* on the strip for 3 nights, 3/14 through 3/17.

I initially did a Priceline offer (before I found this board) for both North & South strip 5* for $100... was rejected and they gave me a counter offer for $188 a night.

I did not accept that and it has been over 24 hours so I can bid again. I read on here how to do multiple bids, but I'm just not sure what amounts I need to be bidding so I can try to get the lowest price possible.

We will be happy w/ any of the 5* that we would get on the strip.

Would appreciate some advice, thanks a lot!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

It won't take $188, but are you willing to go that high?

We don't want to suggest a strategy that goes higher thank you're willing to bid... if not $188, what is your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy to follow.

Bid up to $165 for North & South 5* last night and was rejected....

Decided to see if we could get a 4* North hotel for around $100.... bid $85, $90, $95, and $100... rejected and received a counter offer for $188! (The same counter off we received for the 5* )

Going to do the bidding again tonight for the 5* and probably go up to $175, except we are only going to include the North strip, because we decided we would rather not be so far south on the strip, although I haven't heard of anyone getting The Hotel, we don't want to risk it.

Will keep everyone posted on how it goes tonight.

Is it safe to use Summerlin as a free bid zone when you are bidding 5*? I was not sure so I did not use it... I knew you shouldn't use it on 4*, but did not know about 5*. Thanks!

Yes, as of this writing, Summerlin is 'safe' as a re-bid zone as 5* is considered a higher star category than resort.

If you'd rather not use it, you can just repeat the above and start with $120 since those amounts were already rejected and below that hasn't been seen for a long time... you had the re-bid zones so i included it anyway.

Good Luck.

Update: Priceline accepted our bid for $170 for March 14 - 17 for a 5* North Strip Hotel! We got the Palazzo! We are very excited, and feel like we got a very good deal for the weekend.

We used SavingsBarn.com to direct us to Priceline.

Thanks so much for all of the help!
