dphunts Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Got to hotel and check in went ok, but had an issue with being charged an extra $20 for a double bed room. I've never had that occur before when using priceline. Also, I'd probably consider the Eugene Red Lion a 2* not a 3*. :)
thereuare Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! Can you please add the date(s) of your stay as a reply to this thread so that we can add this information to the topic title and have it appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.I assume you asked for a room with two beds upon check-in? Was there any mention of an additional charge at that time? How many people did you have in the room? dphunts Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 We did ask for two beds at check in, that is when we were told that an extra bed was $20. We have used Priceline on several other stays, and there was never an extra charge for 2 beds. We had 2 adults and one child at check in. Date of stay was 2/9/08.
thereuare Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Not sure how old your child is, but if you search the Red Lion website for 3 adults they do charge $10 more for triple occupancy, so that would have been the "fair" price, and what you may have been able to negotiate. However, priceline only guarantees double occupancy, so the hotel does have a right to charge for occupancy more than two... at least you didn't get stuck in a situation where the hotel had no two bedded rooms left, as they would have still fufilled their side of their agreement if they would only give you a room with one bed.Hope your otherwise enjoyed your stay... and thanks for the follow-up.
