Priceline Hotel: 5* Venice Hilton Molino Stucky

Tried a bid of $125 for a 5* in Venice for March 8, 1 night. Was countered with $147, accepted it, and got one night at the Hilton Molino Stucky. Hilton's website rate was $266, so a great deal! There was also the option of extending that rate for subsequent nights, but we are already booked somewhere else for the rest of our week in Venice.

The hotel could 'disappear' on you while you try to slowly increase your bids, but with a few months to go that would be more the exception than the rule. However, in Venice at the 5* level you did have one re-bid available (Priceline Re-Bidding Explained) and that would have been a better course of action rather than accepting the full counter-offer.
