mykel67 Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Tried a bid of $125 for a 5* in Venice for March 8, 1 night. Was countered with $147, accepted it, and got one night at the Hilton Molino Stucky. Hilton's website rate was $266, so a great deal! There was also the option of extending that rate for subsequent nights, but we are already booked somewhere else for the rest of our week in Venice.
Chris26WI Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Great price for a probably great hotel.. well done.
RackRate Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Mmmm.... sounds lovely I'd like to hear what the hotel was like when you return. Good rate as well, congrats, and enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 The hotel could 'disappear' on you while you try to slowly increase your bids, but with a few months to go that would be more the exception than the rule. However, in Venice at the 5* level you did have one re-bid available (Priceline Re-Bidding Explained) and that would have been a better course of action rather than accepting the full counter-offer.There is a further discussion on this topic here: Priceline Suggests Price to PayPlease remember to use this PRICELINE link (also found in our signature, the support page, and the search box on the top right corner of the board) to begin your future bidding. Thanks for the post, enjoy your stay.
