lythred Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I checked Hotwire at first, trying to book for three nights from 2/17 - 2/20, but it seems 2/20 is a busy night and tends to spike up the price per night.Because my vacation time is a bit flexible, I checked prices from 2/17 - 2/19 instead on Hotwire, and found a hotel (I think Parc 55) for $87 for two nights. I decided to wait one more day to see if it might change to allow me to book my initial preferred dates but the prices spiked up, and I missed my chance.I then proceeded to Priceline. With my first bid of $87 from 2/17 - 2/19, I won. :) 2 nights x $87 + 33.92 taxes = $207.92Used Savingsbarn.comThanks for this forum.. awesome reference to help make educated guesses :)Anyone have suggestions about best timing to bid? What are the chances of winning last minute dates at a 4* for a reasonable price?
