trav555 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Wanted 4*, 3 night stay 19th, 20th, 21st March (Con.Centre-Capitol Hill) but failed over several days/tries up to $80.Noted from most hotel websites that Wed 19th March in Convention Centre-Capitol Hill always at a premium to Thurs/Fri.So decided to split and try for 2 nights 20-21st. There are two free 4*rebid zones for DC.Started at $68 rejected, add 1st rebid zone (Crystal City) $72 rejected, add 2nd rebid (Springfield) $76 Accepted.Used Savingsbarn linkHotel website (Marriott) cheapest ('Special weekend rate') $159 (if you add Wed 19th March $359 a night, what a rip-off!).Although I use priceline a lot, and your excellent site (and another that shall remain, of course, nameless) I confess to not posting enough, in fact I lost my previous details, that's why I signed up as a newbie again for this post, but my conscience wouldn

trav555 Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Yes March, I don't understand what you mean about the dates, they are clearly there in the topic description alsoin the text of the message? the only thing I'm not sure about is the convention you prefer for dates, I have shownnights I'm staying (March 20th, 21st) but hotels normally show checkout date i.e. stay 20th to 22nd actually meaningstaying nights of 20th and 21st and checking out morning of 22nd. Which way do you prefer?
thereuare Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 The board uses check-in/check-out date, and the m/d/yy format.Your duplicate thread showed the dates as 3/19-3/21, which is why i was confused, so if the stay above is:check-in: March 20check-out: March 22... then the topic title is correct. Thanks for the confirmation.
