Hotwire Hotel: pre-cruise family hotel San Juan 8/13-15

Need help in finding something in San Juan for a family of four 2 adults and 2 kids 8/13-15 prior to a So. Carribean cruise. We have not been to San Juan. We prefer oceanview/side/front w/ pref a beach, family-oriented so I guess Water Club might be out? Any suggestions?? Any ideas on authentic food places and sites not to miss within our timeframe is also greatly appreciated .
