acmizzou Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 I am staying in Vegas for my wedding aug. 7-10 and need about 10 rooms, what is the best way to go about that? Would like to have a 4 star on the strip. Any suggestions? Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! When will you know how many rooms you will actually need? What is your budget per room per nite? Is something like the Westin, which is in the South Strip zone but slightly off the strip acceptable? Will any of the rooms require more than double occupancy? acmizzou Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 Something close to the stip is acceptable, I was hoping to get the rooms for around $100 a night, I have used priceline forever and have had great sucess for getting rooms well under this (staying in vegas tonight and tommorow at rio for $52 a night) but dont know how it will work with a bunch of rooms. No rooms will require more than double occupancy. I am buying 5 rooms now for my wedding party and I. The other rooms dont have to be at the same hotel but would be nice.
thereuare Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Is $100 your maximum bid? We can suggest a strategy with that as a limit, but i think it's going to take more than that for a 4* on the strip when 2 out of the 3 nites are weekend nites. acmizzou Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 $120 for a 4 star, $100 for a 3 star.
thereuare Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 If you bid 3* in the North strip zone you begin to open the door for the 'real' North Strip... hotels in/around the Riviera, Sahara, and Stratosphere area; is this area acceptable to you? acmizzou Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 If you bid 3* in the North strip zone you begin to open the door for the 'real' North Strip... hotels in/around the Riviera, Sahara, and Stratosphere area; is this area acceptable to you?Thats the problem, I dont want stratosphere, sahara, ect. Id like to get flamingo, harrahs, TI, nothing too upscale but with a good location.
thereuare Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 What about HOTWIRE?You could purchase 4 rooms and probably ID the hotel beforehand... then do a second search and see if <what appears to be> the same hotel appears again and purchase the fifth room. If the hotel doesnt' appear, you'll need to purchase the fifth room thru conventional means, but since you'll have 4 at a deeply discounted price, the savings could still be beneficial (and of course, assuming you can take an educated guess as to the property you'll be purchasing, you can price hotel diret rates before your HOTWIRE purchase to determine your "worst case scenario".Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Does the above make sense?
