themayor86 Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Hey guys, this is my first time using this board, great idea btw! I found a "4-star hotel in Chicago Loop" for $125 on Hotwire with listed amenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Business Center, and High Speed Internet Access. It has a 4.5/5 trip adviser rating and the retail price is $239 which I cross referenced with Expedia and found that the Monaco Hotel is listing rooms at that exact price on the same night I am seeking the room. The Monaco also has a 4.5/5 rating on trip adviser. The only problem is that the airport distances are off (hotwire: 9.1 miles to Chicago Midway (MDW), 15.7 miles to Chicago O'Hare Intl. (ORD), Expedia map: O'hare: 20 miles, MDW: 13 miles). Also, hotwire doesn't list the hotel as having a fitness room, which the Monaco does. I haven't used hotwire before so I don't know how thorough they are in their listings. Can anyone help me figure this one out?
AaronJB Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 It's likely the Burnham. The Monaco is in the Mag Mile area on Hotwire. Do not go by the retail price on Hotwire, as it's not always accurate - it is for a "comparible" hotel.Keep in mind that there is a construction project across of the Burnham. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase if you decide to go with the Burnham. If you have any questions or need help coming up with alternates, please provide dates of travel and budget.
