Eric Y. Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Could someone help me identify 2* in Jersey City/Hoboken from 3/10-3/13 for $79, there are no amenities listed.
thereuare Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 This property has not yet been identified. The Super 8 has previously been reported at the 1* level without any amenities shown, so that property may have been ugpraded, or it could be one of the other plethora of hotels (which includes an EconoLodge which may be 1 star rated?) along Route 1&9.Assuming you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to NYC, the area of Jersey City which you want to stay is along the waterfront, the other areas of the zone are not nearly as convenient (or nice). If you can't get a hotel in Jersey City along the waterfront, i would sooner purchase 'blindly' in the Secaucus, North Bergen, Rutherford, Meadowlands area at higher quality level than 2 stars. Eric Y. Posted February 4, 2008 Author Report Posted February 4, 2008 Thanks, I'll probably just pass on this one then, and keep looking. If any new info pops up, I'll post it to the board.

Eric Y. Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Booked a cancelable backup at the La Quinta in Long Island City for these dates at $100 a night. Going to check hotwire again in a few days for something in Jersey City or Manhattan for 3* or higher and less than $150.
thereuare Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 As per our support page we're an affilate of the La Quinta Hotel brand... if you didn't, pelase don't forget to check there before making your hotel direct purchases. Eric Y. Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Okay, didn't realize, will use the link if this is what we go with. You seem to be well versed in the area, could you tell me about Long Island City? I think the 7 line is close to the hotel, and offers rather easy access to Manhattan.
thereuare Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 will use the link if this is what we go withIf you cancel your current reservation and re-book now, you'll be assured of the same price. :)It looks like this hotel is about 4 blocks from the subway, however, Long Island City is not an appealing area, imo, and i wouldn't stay there.
