chezbrown Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Successfully bid $44 for a block of 5 rooms for Feb 1 2008. (used BetterBidding and found that $40 bid had been successful in the past) Arrived at hotel at 10:30 pm and was told we were all located on the 4th floor smoking wing. After requesting non-smoking rooms they denied saying Priceline only buys the smoking and handicap rooms and that were no non smoking rooms available to us. The entire floor was also under renovations, no carpet in the hallway, just underpadding that smelled like dead fish. Clerk told us the noise of renovations would begin at 9am. This was definitely not a 3* room/wing, maybe the rest of the hotel is, just not the rooms priceline has contracted for or as advertised by Priceline, and the tone of the front desk clerk was basically you get what you pay for. The rooms wreaked of smoke, one of our party requested a room change to a "less smokey" room and the clerk told her he was not allowing musical room changes. (I found out about that the next day). Overall, this was the worst experience I've had using priceline, not sure who to blame, the hotel or Priceline.
