rabbit13 Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 I want to book a 5* london hotel from 2/29/08 to 3/2/08. here is what i tried thus far with no success...$145 Mayfair/Soho - declined - counter at $221$165 added Notting Hill - declined - counter at $221$176 added bloomsbury/marble arch - declined - no counter$181 + finsbury/islington - declined$186 + westminster - declinedmy star rating remained the same at 5*i am going to try again later today because i had to rethink my price range and what other hotels i can get for the same rate. once 24 hours have passed i'm going to start up at $190 following the same strategy...i thought for sure i would pick up the Marriott Park Lane in the $180's! any idea if it would be worth waiting another week or two? does anyone know whether priceline prices drop the closer you get to the date the hotel needs to get rid of the room? for instance, would you get a cheaper room trying to pick up a room the day before rather than 4 weeks before?
blindman Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 As a rough rule of thumb your winning bid could be about half way between the difference of Counteroffer and the bid at which it was made.Viz $221 -$145 So around $190 The other counter offer also results in this rough guide ($221 - $165 So around $190)What are the Hotel prices for that weekend?
