platinumtouch Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I forgot to post this before my trip but figured I would drop it now just to let those looking at a 5* on the strip know what I got:Room 1 - 1/21-1/24 - $140Room 2 - 1/21-1/25 - $140Room 3 - 1/22-1/24 - $145Room 4 - 1/22-1/26 - $140Room 5 - 1/23-1/26 - $145Room 6 - 1/22-1/24 - $140These rooms were all booked one at a time as individual rooms as I had people added to the trip and removed right up until the last minute. I waited until absolutely the last minute (1/20 for 2 of them) but they all kind of came in around the same price. The rooms they received were the standard (luxury) suite at the venetian which was running $199-$229 during those dates. Suprisingly everyone was (semi-)upgraded to the newly renovated version of that room.As I said, I'm posting this late but it at least gives some people a barometer as to what can be had. This week was a large trade show for the construction industry. In retrospect I wish I had waited till the very last minute and not even done priceline as all the rates around the city bottomed out that last week before the show and were much cheaper (i.e. MGM Grand 4* thru MGM site was $89... rooms not as nice but significant savings). However, for a 5 star everyone was thrilled with their rooms and the Venetian (which is great anyway and looks like Palazzo is in the priceline mix now too) and the price was very fair thru priceline.Just an FYI, I stayed at MGM Grand Skylofts in a 2 bedroom with 3 friends and they went well beyond our expectations. Not available thru priceline but certainly a look at a different lifestyle well above and beyond that of a 5 star. 8 plasmas, 2 overflowing infinity tubs, 1 steam room, 1 game room, living room, dining room, small dining area and family room on 2 stories with personal 24 hour butler.BTW... used Savingsbarn for all my Venetian work.
