bobalouie Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Someone tell me why I bid $14 on my first bid, when I got the car for $12 two weeks prior. I think the Hotwire price was the same, ($16.95). I need some help with rental cars. I usually look at Hotwire, then subtract ~ 25%. Is there a better scheme? Maybe take off 33%? My problem, I only get re-imbursed for midsize, so I can't mess with upgrading and placing a bid for a standard car, if rejected. I think I'm bidding high, but don't know what to do about it. Any advice...GREATLY APPRECIATED!Your Rental Car Reservation Mid Size / Intermediate (Unlimited Mileage) Pick-Up Location: Avis Rent a Car LOS ANGELES AP CA In-Terminal 9217 Airport Blvd Los Angeles,CA 90045 1-800-230-4898 Drop-Off Location: Same as above Pick-Up Date: January 22, 2008 - 9:00 AM Drop-Off Date: February 1, 2008 - 5:00 PM Your Offer Price:$14.00 (per day) Total Rental Days:11 days(10 days and 8 hours) Subtotal:$154.00 Taxes and Fees: $60.20 Total Charges:$214.20 Lowest Published Price:$447.99 Total Savings:*$233.79 (You saved 52%)
