travelmomma Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Hi, this is my very first post. Want to try priceline to get a hotel room for Las Vegas 4* or 5* got Feb 15th - 18th (3 nights). How much shall I expect to pay? Would like a hotel less smokey. Don't really want Westin (mixed hotel review on Westin) or Luxor. Since it's for the weekend, shall I split the 3 nights into two different bids? Any LV gurus out there? Thanks a bunch.
thereuare Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! As you don't wish to stay in either the Westin or the Luxor, you should avoid the South Strip zone. What is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes and fees) for a 5 star? For a 4 star? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
travelmomma Posted January 27, 2008 Author Report Posted January 27, 2008 Is paying max $120.00 for 5* and $100 for 4* reasonable? It's for a FRI, SAT and SUN stay. I am actually interested in the Renaissance or the JW Marriott resort as they are both non-smoking faciliities. Thanks for your assistance. ps. still trying to familiarize myself with some of the posting functions in this website. pls excuse if I am posting incorrectly.
thereuare Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Your topic titles states you're intereted in a hotel on the Strip, but your last post requests help in targeting two properties which aren't on the strip at all. What is it that you are looking for from this stay?If you've never been to Vegas, i highly recommend staying directly on the strip (or walking distance) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bobalouie Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 I got into Planet Hollywood for $65 (first bid) on a weekend, though it is a slow time in Vegas (after new years, before Consumer Electronics) It was a nice place. They upgraded me to a suite...why, I don't know. It's a 4 star, on the strip, but it's not smoke free. I don't think you'll find smoke free, on the strip, but I could be wrong. I suggest, if you definately don't want smoking, priceline isn't the best way to get a room
travelmomma Posted January 29, 2008 Author Report Posted January 29, 2008 Thanks for your reply and sorry for the confusion. When I first posted, I would have liked to stay on the strip. Then after doing more research on this site (being a Newbie and everything), I realized that off the strip may be a better choice and better chance of not getting Luxor or Westin. Thanks also for Bobalouie's reply which made Planet Hollywood sound appealing as well. Will be traveling with family and hence non-smoking facilities would be best. Most likely would like to do more site seeing of the newly constructed hotel attractions than gambling. Have not been to Vegas since 2004 or so. Must have changed quite a bit. Once I have my flight confirmed, I will try bidding for North end of strip 4* or 5*. Thanks for your help.
travelmomma Posted May 7, 2010 Author Report Posted May 7, 2010 sorry, we got cold feet and ended up not going to Las Vegas.
