ttcoupe Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Hey,we're looking into visiting LV from Jul/6 to Jul/8. We'd like to stay in a 5* hotel in the north vicinity. All we need is a room for two. How high should we expext to bid? NB: It should be significantly below $200.Cheers!TT
thereuare Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum bid? We can suggest a strategy for you to follow, but 'significantlly below $200' means different things to different people, so we don't know how high you're willing to bid. ttcoupe Posted January 25, 2008 Author Report Posted January 25, 2008 Aight, let's say about $180 to $185 max.Thx.
thereuare Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Rates at the Venetian are nearly $600/nite for these dates, so if you are successful, i don't think it's going to be at that property. When bidding 5* in Vegas you have 7 re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* North Strip...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone6...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 5* North Strip and re-bid zone7...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone6...Bid $185Any quesitons feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. ttcoupe Posted January 26, 2008 Author Report Posted January 26, 2008 Hey,it didn't work. However, EasyClickTravel offers a hotel with Venetian suites for $236 for the travel dates. This seems a pretty good deal to me.TT
thereuare Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I saw that EasyClickTravel rate previously, but you had stated that you thought this stay should be significantly below $200/nite.If you're willing to pay $236/nite for this room i would certainly jump on the Venetian thru EasyClickTravel. (please use the previous link(s) if you do)Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help. ttcoupe Posted January 27, 2008 Author Report Posted January 27, 2008 Thanks for your help. The reason why I did not want to bid more than $185 (plus tax and what not) was that that there is a risk that we may end up at the Wynn. I know that this is an excellent hotel, but you can get that for less than $200 + tax. So I did not want to overpay for the Wynn. This in mind, it boiles down to being willing to pay $50+tax and be sure to stay at the Venetian or to gamble and perhaps overpay for a stay at the Wynn. And given the situation that the Venetian regular price for the is around $600, $236 is more than a 60% discount!
