dbilling Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Looking for a 4* historic hotel in Chicago, Loop on 4/14/08 for 3 nights. On Hotwire I am seeing a $239 4* with Boutique, Restaurant, Buisness Center and Highspeed (retail $252)I assume from the Boutique rating this must be one of the Kimpton Hotels, perhaps the Burnham, Monoco, or Allegro. But which one? It doesn't match any of the pinned hotels perfectly. Also, if it is one of these, I am a bit surprised to see $252 listed as retail for these hotels, since their web sites all start at 319 and go higher.Palmer House Hilton web site shows $252 those nights. But nobody would call that a Boutique, would they? I'm not really willing to go with priceline since I want a historic or boutique hotel for this trip, not the hardrock or similar. Thanks for the help...
thereuare Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 The retail prices are a match for a hotel of that star rating in the zone, not necessarily the hotel being offered, so while they can be correct, they are often not, and therefore not a good indicator to be used to identify hotels. The above is a match for the Hotel Burnham so that would be our best guess. With a 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating, i wouldn't be worried too much of the quality/experience should our guess be wrong. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 It wouldn't be the Palmer, and the Allegro is 3.5* (and closed for renovations for a couple months, I think?)As thereuaresaid, the Burnham is the most likely.

Just closing out this old thread...I never ended up booking this one, so I don't know the final hotwire hotel outcome for this request.
