puremega Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Hi, I tried bidding for a 4 star in Downtown Denver at $ 65 and used rebids in zones not having 4 star properties to go to 70, 75, 80 and 85 with no luck. I know this is at the low end of what people have been successful in winning. As a relatively new priceline user I wonder if my chances for success might go up by breaking the stay into different bids (say 31st - 2nd and 2nd - 7th)? Based on hotel sites the weekend of the 31st, 1st is very expensive so they are most likely booked. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. I am going for a conference and my conference rate at the Hyatt Regency is $ 169 / night so I have room to come up although I don't really want to go there. Thanks in advance.
travelguy2 Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Are you averse to changing hotels if necessary to save the most money? If not, try bidding the less-heavily-booked dates first, maybe June 2-7 as one bid, and see what you get.If you get something good, try to use the "add a night" feature on Priceline to add May 31 or June 1.If that doesn't work, you can always try a separate, higher, bid for those nights only.
