zbenye Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Tax: $7.68PL rejected a bid for 5 nights (3/13-3/18), but accepted two separate bids for the same nights...
bturner13 Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Why do you think this happened? Do you think it is a glitch in their system? I've seen folks having to split up stays in Vegas and other areas, getting the same hotels but at different daily rates for their entire stay. :)
thereuare Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Hard to say why this happened, and i'm somewhat intrigued by it too.It is possible that Priceline is willing to work at their room cost (+$5.95 fee) for stays 3 days and under, but requires a bid above their cost for stays of 4 days and more.As i would think that a small proportion of Priceline stays are greater than 3 nites, this may be a hard theory to prove. I'll try to do some research and check out 'longer stays' and see if they were given at cost or not.As well, could just be some sort of glitch in their system, as there have been other 'quirks' reported. zbenye Posted March 15, 2003 Author Report Posted March 15, 2003 I've made many bookings on PL of up to 21 nights, all at cost. So if PL is doing what you said, it must be a new thing.Consider also that I did try overbidding by $4 for the entire term, before resorting to making two bids.
thereuare Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Then it sounds like a glitch <IMO>. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
