Priceline Hotel: 4* Las Vegas (Freemont St) Golden Nugget

I'm trying to get the Golden Nugget for this stay. It has been between $100 to $115 (most recently on the higher end) on Hotwire for the last two months. The direct book through the GN website is (109 for Wed and Thurs and 159 for Fri).

My first attempt was as follows:

$70 rejected w/$107 counter offer

$80 rejected

$85 rejected w/$140 counter offer

$90 rejected

Any thoughts or comments?

Do you have a maximum bid in mind?

This user just won the Golden Nugget at $95/nite for a similar situation of a Saturday check-out (although their stay is for only one mid-week nite)

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

I would split if it meant a good deal. I assume there is little risk in splitting since this is the only 4* downtown.

A reminder that this is the only known/reported 4* hotel in the zone.

The risk is certainly lower than splitting in other areas, but since this is Vegas, there is also a risk that if/when you bid for the Friday nite on its own you'll be rejected due to a multi-nite stay required.

On the positive side, there is also a possibility bidding for the two midweek nites results in a "extend your stay" option which woudl give you a clue as to the 'right price' for the Friday nite.

Both Hotwire and GN website show availabilty for the Fri night ($154 and $159). The Wed and Thurs price is 105 on Hotwire and $109 on GN website. Given that I could likely get the Fri night without the PL, I think splitting may be worth a try.

Does $45, $50, $55, $60, $65 seem like a good range for Wed and Thurs?

You have plenty of time, so you can start wherever you'd like, but I think under $55 is a bit too optimistic... i would start at $55, but wouldn't expect a win until you get closer to $80+.

I bid this as split and together. Since I had a lot of time, I was only using two rebid zones. To the best of my memory the last split bid (Wed and Thurs nights) was:

$52 rejected with $78 counter

$57 rejected

$61 rejected

Wed, Thurs and Fri night bid was:

$80 rejected with offer to raise bid by $22

$84 rejected

$88 accepted

This was less than I bid earlier and saves $140 from our backup at GN. However, I think a little better deal was out there with the splitting. Oh well, it may be worth a few bucks not to do the Fri morning check-in/out and there is no chance that I will have to change rooms.
