gbgirls Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Hi There,I was recommended to your website by a friend - great site by the way :) I'm looking for some advice. Myself and 3 friends (4 adults total) will be in NYC checking in on May 15th/08 and checking out on May 19th/08. From reading your posts, I understand that I cannot book for 4 adults on priceline and I'm somewhat nervous on taking the chance. I've been reviewing Hotwire (using your link), but I haven't really found anything that I though was a super deal....ie, the best I've found thus far is $289 in MTE. We are first time visitors to the city, so our choice of location would be the MTE, MTW, TS/CP - open to suggestion of course~!As for price, obviously the best deal we can find, but I'd like to set a $200 max per night (before tax and recovery costs). As for star rating, I really would like to get a minimum of 3*.As we still have some time (and I do have patience), I know its best to book something with a cancellable reservation and keep looking on Hotwire. Do you have any suggestions on cancellable reservation for those dates? Thanks!!!!! :)
thereuare Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!May is an expensive time in NYC and i think a $200 limit for quad occupancy is going to be tough for a 4* hotel for these dates. Likewise, a cancellable back-up in this range will be difficult as well.Quickbook is a good source for cancellable reservations (most of their rates are fully cancellable, but those which are not are clearly marked as such)... but everything i'm seeing as a back-up (thru Quikbook and other sources) is closer to $300+/nite).I think ultimately you're going to have to increase your budget or lower your star rating. gbgirls Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 Hi There,I'm looking for help identifying a 3.5* Hotel in Times Square/Theatre District for Dates May 15 to May 19 2008. Amenities: Fitness Centre, Restaurant, Business Centre and High Speed Internet, with a price of $294.00 per night.Any thoughts? Thanks!!!
thereuare Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The above is a match for the Crowne Plaza Times Square so that would be our best guess. For $300/nite you can book the Fitzpatrick Grand Central or the Fitzpatrick Manhattan, each is available for $299 thru Quikbook, is cancellable so you can continue to try the opaque providers for a better deal, and they both get excellent reviews (HERE and HERE respectively). Please use this Quikbook link should you book the above as a back-up OR this HOTWIRE link if you go that route.Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help.
