centerhalf Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Hi Guys,Just stumpled upon this forum. Great site.Im planning a trip to New York in November this year for 7 nights. Im not too fussed on the area in Manhattan, although i would prefer somewhere near Midtown.A quick question; Is there any chance that $300 a night would secure me a 4* hotel for the above dates. The dates are certain and i have the money avaialble. Any ideas on when i should start bidding? I would like to book it ASAP although i am quite happy to wait for a while if its going to save me a few quid. Thanks for your help guys
thereuare Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!I think a 4* at $300 or less would probably be do-able... HOTWIRE currently has a 4* offered in the Midtown South zone for $280/nite, but this property has not yet been identified, so can't say whether or not it's a "true" 4 star. However, GTA Hotels is offering the Affinia Manhattan for $254/nite. While this property may not be a 4 star, it does get great reviews so not sure if you would want to lower your maximum bid to this amount or not. This may also be cancellable (GTA Hotels states that "most" of their bookings are cancellable without penalty but as htoels have different policies the actual terms will be shown to you during the check-out process), and if this property is acceptable i would at least begin the check-out process and reserve it if fully cancellable as it could be a good back-up.Thoughts on the above?
