Hotwire Hotel: 3* Chicago (Evanston-Skokie-Niles) Doubletree

The Illinois Hotwire hotel summary of April, 2003, noted that the 2-star hotel in this area was the Skokie Extended Stay. Does anyone know if this is still the case?

I fear the 2-star may be the Days Inn on Tuohy, which I've been warned against.

The hotel summary contains no amenity references at all. A Hotwire rep told me that this is at the option of the hotel. I have need of the kitchenette for a week's stay.

I wouldn't bet that this is the Extended Stay, as I believe the ES has a Suite icon. I would think that this is probably likely the Days Inn, with the possibility that it could be the Comfort Inn.

A few questions:

1. Dates of travel?

2. Budget?

3. Do you need to be in the Skokie area or can you be in a different area of the suburbs?

Thanks, Aaron. I suspect you're right that this 2star is no longer the Extended Stay. More likely Days Inn. I know from recent posts that the 3 star in the area should be the Doubletree at a similar price ... will likely go with this.

Followed your HOTWIRE link to reserve as follows:

The 3 star hotel in Skokie, with Fitness Ctr, Restaurant, Pool, Business Ctr, for four nights, from 2/10 to 2/14, at $49 per, with $29.19 in taxes et al, totalling $225.19. As others have noted, this is the Skokie Doubletree, a facility known to my family as one of the newer and better in the area. Superb value. Again, thanks, and I'll use this site for booking whenever I can.

Can you confirm that there was also a Hi-Speed Internet icon shown to be associated with the hotel (as previously reported and also showing on a current HOTWIRE search for your dates in this zone at $49). Yes ... I do remember the hi-speed internet reference. Again, for anyone needing a hotel in this area, at $49 a night the Doubletree is great value, even in a Chicago February.
