Priceline Hotel: 4* Las Vegas (Downtown) Golden Nugget

Hi All - this my first post here and have enjoyed being a spectator up to this point.

I'm looking for some advice on where to start my bidding. The Hotwire price for the Golden Nugget (it's the only 4* down town I've seen mentioned and it's where we want to stay) is $109 for the 2 nights of 3/27 - 3/28. The GoldenNugget.com price averages out to $124 per night.

I don't really have a limit I'm willing to pay...I know I can get it for $109 but I'd like to get it for less (that's were all of you come in!).

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (NOTE: Summerlin is not one of them)

Select 4* Downntown...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Downntown and re-bid zone2...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $90.

Thank you for your assistance in getting me started.

I placed my first bid on Priceline (using the SavingsBarn link) as follows:

4* / Fremont St Vicinity / $70 and was rejected.

For the next bid, should I add the Boulder Highway Strip zone since there are no 4*? And bid amount would be $80 (if I use the numbers from the previous post). Is that correct?

I just noticed the Boulder Highway Strip zone is greyed out and I can't select it. Should I use the North Las Vegas zone even though there is a Resorts item for $269? If not, what zone should I use?

DO NOT add the North zone unless you want to stay there (not only are there Resort hotels in the North Strip zone but there are 4* hotels as well).

Have you read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and able to determine your re-bid zones? If not, list each zone within Las Vegas and the highest star rating available in each... we'll then confirm your re-bid zones or answer any questions you have to figure them out.

Okay...I think I have it now. I had read the Rebidding Explained entry but was on the wrong Priceline page when looking at the zones (I was on the page listing the hotel names and not the Name Your Own Price page).

So, if I have done this correctly then my two re-bid zones are Nellis and Las Vegas Airport, correct?

And my next re-bid would be:

4* / Freemont and Nellis / $80

If that's declined then close the browser and start over again with:

4* / Freemont and Las Vegas Airport / $85

How does that look?

However, i would follow the strategy i suggested above:

Select 4* Downntown...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Downntown and re-bid zone2...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $90.

...as it gives you more bidding opportunities than the approach you posted.

2nd -- Freemont & Nellis -- $75

3rd -- Freemon & LV Airport -- $80 -- Counter of $105 (which I rejected)

4th -- Freemont & Nellis -- $85

5th -- Freemont & Nellis & LV Airport -- $85

6th -- Freemont -- $90 -- Counter $102 (which I rejected)

7th -- Freemont & Nellis -- $95 Accepted
