Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC 6/22/08-6/24/08

Hi I need help / bidding advice for 6/21 - 6/27.

I'm willing to pay up to $170 a night. So far I've not had any luck with 4*. I've also put in $130 for 3*. I've tried all the areas i.e MTE, MTW, MTS, CP and Times Square.

Any suggestions / tips would be most helpful.

I assume you have already tried a 4* up to $170?

Rates for these dates are currently high, and there is plenty of time between now and your stay, but if things remain the same i think $170 is going to be tough for a 4 star property.

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Do you have a back-up reservation anywhere? (if so, where and how much)

Hi. yes I have tried already. I have looked at hotwire and they have a rate of $166 for a 3* in MTS a night plus taxes. Do you think that this will be beaten at all?

I don't currently have a back up option.

The amenities are Fitness Centre and Restaurant

This property has not yet been identified, and with just these two amenity icons, it could be most 3* hotels in NYC.

However, it is probably a fairly big drop from the 4* hotel that you were originally looking for. Although their star ratings are getting much better, HOTWIRE can be a bit 'generous' and this is probably more like a 3*, or possibly a 2.5*, on Priceline.

I can't say which direction prices will go between now and your stay, but my thought is that with over 5 months to go before your trip, i wouldn't be compromising and locking in a non-refundable reservation at this point in time. (obviously if something really good came along i'd jump on it... but no sense dropping your star rating at this point in time)

I have managed to book the Westin Times Sqaure for 22nd and 23rd June for $199 through HOTWIRE Travel Ticker, I now just need the 24-27th. I still have had no luck with Priceline bidding up to $210.

Any suggestions?

It takes you to the Starwood Hotels Page, however they have the deal on at the minute at $199 for numerous dates up to Febraury 2009.

Would you be able to give me a bidding strategy for 22-24. Don't mind where am staying, so TS, ME, MW, MS, MC, UM-CPS will all be fine.

My budget is up to $220 a night. Do you think that this is reasonable for this time of year?

At the 4* level you have four re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Times Square...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...
