AISHokie Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 I'm new to the forum and this is truly a great tool.I'll be visiting NYC from 7/26 through 7/29 and I'd like to get a three star hotel in the MTE, MTW, MTS, or TS zones. I'm looking at a max of $150 per night. Does anyone have any suggested bidding strategies? What amount should I start bidding at. Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! You may be able to get a 4* hotel for these dates wthin your budget (althought i currenlty may be too early for either a 3* or a 4*)... are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay? Also, at the 3* level MTS is a zone often won... is there a reason you're not including this zone too or is this an area you'd like to include as well? AISHokie Posted January 11, 2008 Author Report Posted January 11, 2008 The ultimate goal would be the cheapest 3* I could get. However, if I could get a 4* for roughly the same price, then it would definitely be something I'd be interested in. I could include the MTS zone as well, just overlooked it initially. You say it may be too early to begin bidding. When would be the ideal time to start bidding? Thanks for the help!

thereuare Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 One more question (and perhaps what i meant in my first reply to this thread as i re-read it)...You're not inclucing the UM/CPS zone, is there a reason you're avoiding that area or would you like to include it in a bidding strategy? There are a fair number of 3* hotels in this zone that are won frequently. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AISHokie Posted February 9, 2008 Author Report Posted February 9, 2008 I'd be willing to include that zone as well. Just overlooked it with the initial post. Thanks for your help.
