morniing Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 1 room with 2 adults. I purchase 2 weeks in advance.Amenities (if I remember well): Casino, restaurant, breakfast, pool, near beach, didn't have Internet or business center.Location is VERY good. It's right across from a 24H Walgreens (where you can get all kinds of sundries and up to $40 cash back without paying any ATM fee as the only bank there is Banco Popular). It's also across from the Marriott Resort which is right on the beach. ALL beaches in Puerto Rico are public by law so you are literally 20 seconds' walk from the beach.Room are adequate, but definitely not fancy. It's in the Condado area of San Juan. There is a bus that runs every 40 minutes in reality (every 20 min on posted sign) to get you to Old San Juan.Hotel charged me $10 on top of Hotwire's charge... some sort of local hotel tax. They told me it's $10 per day but ended up charging $10 for my 2-day stay due to their accounting mess on the bill.
irongut99 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 The reviews certainly aren't favorable. :) How close is it to the cruise ship piers? Would the better half tolerate one pre-cruise night?
thereuare Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Thanks for the report.Amenities (if I remember well)...You can still view the amenities by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top of their home page. Can you please report them here.Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
morniing Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 Not close to the cruise ship piers at all. The piers are at Old San Juan on the south shore. Sheraton is directly across the pier. You should stay in the Candado area only if you want to be directly on the beach AND save some money (otherwise go to the more upscale Isla Verde area). But if you prefer charming neighborhoods and lovely streets, you should definitely choose Old San Juan. Don't know about other properties but Hotel Milano is at a central location and I passed by it several times in the evening and didn't notice any loud bar.
morniing Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 Your're right. The amenities are below. I have to make a correction though. The dates booked are 12/27/07-12/29/07. Near BeachProperty is located within easy walking distance of a beach. CasinoProperty offers a full-service casino accessible from the lobby. Complimentary Breakfast<amenity names only please... not descriptions> Pool(s)Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s)Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.

Currently have 4 adults staying at Radisson Ambassador at around $360 total for a Jan 19th pre-cruise stay. Any suggestions to improve on this?
