purechaos Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I am trying to plan a trip with a group of friends in july. We are looking at getting 3 rooms for 4 nights.I would like to try and get rooms at the venetian. We were originally going to go 4th of july weekend, but found that airfare (and likely hotel) will be considerably less expensive. I am hoping to book the venetian for ~$125 a night, but have never used priceline. I am wondering if the price will fluctuate much the closer we come to july since it is 6 months away. I think we will be booking flights for Sat July 12 and staying 4 nights. Is $125 a night possible on the weekends? or is the $119 that some people get only during the weekdays? I'm pretty sure july is a slow period (except for the WSOP that should be over by the 12th), has anyone successfully booked for $99 during the slow periods? Another question I have is am I more likely to get a lower rate booking 3 rooms at once? If I book my room on my CC is it likely that my friends will be able to book using the same criteria? OR do I need to book all rooms at once to eliminate the risk of getting put in different hotels?
thereuare Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!I am wondering if the price will fluctuate much the closer we come to july since it is 6 months awaySee the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.I think we will be booking flights for Sat July 12 and staying 4 nightsGenerally speaking you should try to avoid weekend nites. If you check the Venetians website for your dates they're nearly $500/nite, so the chances of winning this property for these nites is very low.has anyone successfully booked for $99 during the slow periods? Not that low in a very long time.Another question I have is am I more likely to get a lower rate booking 3 rooms at once? OR do I need to book all rooms at once to eliminate the risk of getting put in different hotels?Booking multiple rooms does not improve your chances (it's usually a non-factor, but if it does make a difference, it's more of a negative). However, to elimate the risk of ending up at different properties, or only receiving 1 or 2 rooms of the 3 you need, you should book all rooms in the same bid.
