kindness29 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 I am new to the forum and I so desperately need help. I bid $45 on priceline for a 4 star hotel south strip and my bid got rejected. Then I added north strip and increase my bid to $50 with still no success. How can I get such great rates as the previous members? Did I do something wrong? Please Advise...........
thereuare Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are date specific, and i don't think anyone has won a bid for a 4* hotel for your weekend dates at $50 or less. What is your maximum bid for this stay? Which zone(s) are you willing to accept? What is your minimum star quality? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
kindness29 Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 Thanks for the response!! My maximum bid is $95 for the north or the south zones. My minimum star quality is 4
thereuare Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Have you researched rates for your dates at all? There are three large conventions (45K each) taking place during your stay driving up hotel rates. What is the best rate you're able to find for a 4* on the strip? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
kindness29 Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 So far Planet Hollywood rates are 1/31($199) 2/1($299) 2/2($299)The Mirage 1/31($249) 2/1($249) 2/2($379)
thereuare Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Your maximum bid of $95 is in all likelihood too low and is only about 1/3 of a conventionally booked hotel. If you're not successful with priceline up to $95, what is your gameplan... lower your star rating, raise your bid, reschedule trip, book direct, etc? kindness29 Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 Is it best to increase my bid? It is my Birthday weekend and I really want to go to Las Vegas. What do you suggest?
thereuare Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Whether you incrase your bid, lower your star rating, or re-schedule for a different weekend depends upon your budget, what type of hotels you typically stay in, what you expect from a hotel during your stay, and how important it is for you to celebrate on your actual birthday. discountKING Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Is it best to increase my bid? It is my Birthday weekend and I really want to go to Las Vegas. What do you suggest?Hey! I'm actually trying to find something between 2/1 - 2/3. Have you had any luck finding anything? Those conventions in town that weekend are making it impossible to find anything. Please let me know.
