traveler212 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Traveling with 2 kids so I need a room or suite that can accomadate (and provide) 2 cribs. I want to stay in the Miami Beach area not South Beach. How do I enter a bid like this on priceline?
thereuare Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Priceline only guarantees double occupancy. If you aren't willing to take the risk, or want to play it safe, i would think you'd have a better chance of getting the space you need by using HOTWIRE and selecting a triple (or quad) occupancy, whichever you will be. This will guarantee sleeping accomodations for everyone you include in your search, but there is still no guarantee that the hotel will have two cribs available (nor space for two cribs)... dont' know if your kids are old enough to sleep in a crib if needed or if you travel with your own pak n play(s).Another option is if HOTWIRE has any Condo properties avaiable or if you are able to identify a property offered before your purchase and research if their standard rooms would accomodate your needs. If you would like to continue let us know your thoughts regarding which service you would like to and/or any questions you may have. In any reply also include the date(s) of your stay, minimum star rating, and maximum budget per nite. traveler212 Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 Can I enter my own price on Hotwire?I don't see where I can enter for a quad room I just put in 2 adults 2 kids.I got a 3 start hotel for $99/night. for 3 nights last week in Jan in Miami beach. What hotel is that?

What hotel is that?1) No2) Putting in 2A and 2C gives you a room that will accomodate the size of the party3) Assuming it's the hotel showing these amenities Near Beach, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, KitchenetteWhich I see available for $102 from Jan 28-31stThen my best guess is the 3* Sixty Sixty Hotel (look at this Hotwire Hotel List)Please confirm what amenities are shown and the extact dates. Then we'll be able to help.
traveler212 Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 Looks like you are right. What is a good price that will be accepted for a 3 or 4 star in Miami Beach or North Miami Beach for that time period on Priceline?
blindman Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 What are the hotel rates direct from their web-sites?PL rates tend to be lower than HOTWIRE, but difficult to say by how much as this can vary greatly. Not a good indicator but what are the history of winning bids for PL in that area? (Look at the Priceline Hotel Maps)
thereuare Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Another way to see the historical bids is by using the "Quick Search" in the banner at the top of the page, entering:Miami Beach -South(the '-' in front of South excludes any listing which includes South (Beach))As well, if you intend to bid on priceline, are you willing to pay more for a 4* hotel vs. a 3* hotel or are you seeking the least expensive 3* or better for your stay. What would be your maximum bid? (keep in mind that priceline only guarantees double occupancy) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
