Welcome to BetterBidding!

We can suggest a bidding strategy but you'll need to decide upon what your requirements first... do you want a 3* or a 4* hotel? So that we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you wish to spend, what is your maximum bid? Which zone(s) are you willing to accept?

Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly.

hi , thanks for helping me out....

I definately want a 4* and above...( being greedy but ok)....

From my research what i see is definately 1/25 to 1/27 are costly ....while 1/27 to 1/28 is cheaper and reduces by 50% from the other two days....

So thinking of bidding twice ...one 4* for 1/25 to 1/26 and 5* for 1/27 to 1/28 ...

i an thinking of going upto $100 per night....any suggestions??? :)

If you're commited to splitting the stay, we'll use separate threads for each leg of your stay, but i'll comment that $100 for a 5* for 1/27 is not likely realistic.

In regards to 1/25-1/27, if you're intending to stay on the strip, i'm doubtful $100 will be enough for a 4* for these dates, but if you'd like to try, which zones are you willing to accept? Also, are you willing to accept the Westin, which is slightly off-strip?

i am not really commited in splitting the stay only thought to ask if it would be a good idea to do it?
It could be beneficial due to the rate change, but as i noted above, i don't think you're expectations are realistic, so i'm not sure just what you're expecting to receive and/or save by splitting vs. not splitting.

Is the Westin acceptable?

Is $100 your maximum bid?

Nope not really Westin....

yep $100 would be the maximum i am planning to go.....

reason: i picked some from travel zoo...and i see i get Luxor for $139 + $139 +$69 for my travel dates...so if i put more then $100 and i get something not equally good as Luxor..then i would be disappointed....

So what do u say ?

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

If you aren't willing to accept the Westin than you should bid the entire South Strip zone, which elimiates a LOT of the potential 4* hotels.

Also, note that my comment regarding not being successful at a 4* hotel for just the weekend nites, as previously you stated that you would be bidding for a 5* for the midweek nite (which i also don't believe would have been successful).

As far as the Luxor, it can be booked cheaper than you've quoted above HERE for $133/nite. However, i would much sooner book the Treasure Island for $129/nite... not only is it a few dollars less, it has a better location. Both hotels are at oppostite ends of the the main part of 'the strip', but i much prefer the location surrounding Treasure Island and there are more hotels and closer together.

Which brings us to the Hilton. In Vegas it's all about location, location, location... and the Hilton is off the strip. While it may be a nice hotel (although often described as "old and tired"), it is on the monorail line which will take you to the strip, but you lose the "walk out your door and explore Las Vegas" experience.

Please use the links in this thread if you choose to book the Hilton, Luxor, or Treasure Island.

any suggestion for my previous questions?

I would be booking the Treasure Island. You could try to beat this by bidding, but you'd need to be more realistic in your expectations (ie- not looking for a 5* for the midtweek nite). As well, with your desire to avoid the Westin, you can only bid the North Strip zone, which is going to make the Treasure Island tough to beat (and not sure if worth the non-refundability at this point of an opaque purchase)

Can i ask the point of picking the three best hotels in each of the categories above? You can't choose the hotel you're bidding on, and with HOTWIRE you can't choose which hotel will be offered, so i'm not really sure where you're going with this.

Hi good point: Here is what i have thought:

1) this is my first trip to las vegas:

2) By knowing the best ones, i would go and check the rates or deals for them online and see what am i getting....the best rates for them...

3) Reason now i waited on bidding because i did bid till 120 for a 4* ut with no luck in priceline....so i guess even if i have to pay $20 more and get a hotel of the name that is good would be a better option....

What do u think ..is my thought valid? if yes can u suggest me ? thanks

Your process isn't valid (imo), as what you're really after is value. Paris may be a more highly regarded hotel than the MGM, but if Paris is $200/nite and MGM is $100/nite, i'd sooner go with the MGM without even thinking twice about it. I think you're making this more complicated than it is.

It wouldn't be a better option, as you'd be paying $140 plus fees... where we've already discussed the Treasure Island being available for $129/nite.

When did you make your last priceline bid?

The last bid i made was yesterday night by selecting noth and south for the last 4* at 120....but did not succeed....I looked twice but i never found TI for $129 a night during my dates...even not through the link that u gave me....

yep my question of the best chosen ones because every 4* most of them are in the same range .....:)

Do u want me to bid in any other way?
