MeAko Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Hotel #1 (Is this Planet Hollywood?)4 star$69 (Retails $100) Amenities:CasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-speed Internet AccessSpa ServicesHotel #23.5*$59Amenities:CasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)High-speed Internet AccessGolf NearbySpa Services
thereuare Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 The 4* hotel is a match for Planet Hollywood while the 3.5* is a match for Harrahs so that would be our best guess for each. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. MeAko Posted December 29, 2007 Author Report Posted December 29, 2007 logged back in to book planet hollywood and it seemed to have disappeared.what i saw was a "different" 4*price: $103 retails: $125Central Strip, with the same amenities:CasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-speed Internet AccessSpa ServicesPrice couldn't have jumped $34 dollars in a matter of a day could it? :)
blindman Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Price couldn't have jumped $34 dollars in a matter of a day could it? :)Yes it could...
MeAko Posted December 29, 2007 Author Report Posted December 29, 2007 Just checked 2 seconds ago and Planet Hollywood seems to be back, I'd like to know if we know what hotel is the $103 as we would also like to consider staying in that Hotel if it is significantly nicer.Has a Best Value tag.
thereuare Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 The amenities for each 4* hotel you're seeing appear the same to me (correct me if i'm wrong)... i think it's the same hotel (even though the price at one point was much higher than currently)Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. MeAko Posted December 29, 2007 Author Report Posted December 29, 2007 The amenities are the same but when it came out 69, Hotwire said it retails for 100, but for this one, Hotwire says it retails for $125.Is it possible that Hotwire changes the retail price?Does it seem logical that the price changes by 34 dollars for the same dates in a matter of 1 to 2 days?
MeAko Posted December 29, 2007 Author Report Posted December 29, 2007 There is a CUSTOMER FAVORITE! at $59 (save $14 19% savings)With Amenities: CasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesThis seems to be a match for Flamingo right? I just want to "ensure" that the 103 hotel isn't a much better one that this, otherwise, I'm pretty okay with Flamingo.
thereuare Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 The reatail pricing is often not associated with the actual hotel shown, so that is usually not a relaible factor to use in identifying hotels. The HOTWIRE 3.5* above (i'm assuing it is 3.5* rated) is a match for the Flamingo so that would be our best guess.Let us know how it goes. MeAko Posted December 31, 2007 Author Report Posted December 31, 2007 I have been trying to book the 3.5* customer favorite (ie Flamingo) through Hotwire for the past 3 days without success. I'm getting Error #111 which says that the itinerary is not available.I have contacted Hotwire numerous times and they have told me to call them. Still figuring out how to call them all the way here from the Philippines. This is my first crack at Hotwire and it has been rather discomforting.I'm trying to book it1/9 - 1/10 $791/10-1/12 $59rather than if you were to book 1/9-/12 then it would be $79/night the whole stay thru. But no success so far, very frustrated.
MeAko Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 Thank GOD my bookings didn't push through I realized that the Flamingo rooms that I was booking were the DELUXE rooms, those are the OLD and dirty rooms (which accounts for the trashing their getting from TripAdvisor), I was looking at the Flamingo site and was looking at the newly renovated GO rooms (glowing praises from TripAdvisor) and thought that the $59 deal in Hotwire were those rooms. It's good that I realized it wasn't and went ahead to book directly on the Flamingo (Harrah's) website which came out $90 / $75 /$90, make sure you click the hot DEALS link at the top of the page.
