Tacoma Kid Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 I am looking to book 4 nights beginning 7/11/08 and want to get as close to Greeenwich Village as possible. I have stayed at various hotels in Times Square (Hilton, both Sheratons, etc...) and just want a new fun neighborhood. That being said, I am trying to avoid south of Tribecca which is a dead zone at night. So I saw one *4 hotel listed that I can't quite pin. $286/night. Amenities: fitness, restaurant, business, hi-speed. So I don't think that this is the Hilton as there is no pool, nor do I think it is the Embassy Suites. That's good for me because those are a bit out of the way. Is this the Tribecca Grand?Anyhow, any advice on how to get as close to Greenwich Village is appreciated, as well as pinning this hotel. Whenever I do decide to book, please post the HOTWIRE link for me so I can give this site the credit for the booking. Thanks.
thereuare Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! This property has not yet been identified... but i will add that this sounds VERY expensive for this time of year.If location is more important than price, you may want to consider booking the Washington Square Hotel (thru GTA Hotels, please use this link) for $260/nite which gets very good reviews and will have you in the heart of the village.I'd also question if paying nearly $300/nite for the HOTWIRE hotel is worthwhile, when you could stay elsewhere in midtown and be in the village in 5 minutes for a $2 subway ride. There are not many 4* hotels in this zone North of Canal and i think you run a big risk of ending up in Downtown/Battery Park if you go with the opaque providers in this zone.Let us know your thougths on the above and we'll take it from there. Tacoma Kid Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 Thanks. I am going to wait a few months to see how prices shake out (willing to wait until the end of March). I agree....that's pretty darn pricey for hotwire. Oddly, we were looking at the Washington Square Hotel already. When we do settle our hotel plans, if we do choose that location we will book through the link. Thanks.
thereuare Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Just a warning...If you're considering the Washington Square thru GTA Hotels i would check to see if the rate is fully refundable (they state "most hotels on their site have no cancellation fee but the full terms of the actual hotel you book will be shown during check-out), and if it there is no penalty for cancelling, i would book it now. This way you're protected in case rates go up or the hotel is no longer available thru GTA Hotels (as they only get a limited number of rooms at their contracted price).
