cruiser25 Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Please help, any advice appreciated.I am looking for 2 rooms, prefer resort in San Juan 2/22/08 for one night.I have booked back ups at the Normandie for $210/night, but after reading some reviews would prefer to stay elsewhere.I am willing to go up to 175/night for one of the resorts. I have bid up to 150 without success.Thanks.
cruiser25 Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 and of course I will use the link.
thereuare Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! For starters i think you can improve upon your back-up in two different ways:1) you can book the Normandie HERE for $194/nite (less than your current reservation)2) you can book the Holiday Inn for $194/nite and it gets very good reviews. I've also posted some pictures of this property at our sister site RealHotelPhotos.comEach of the above are cancellable up until a few days before your stay. (also, just noticed that the Holiday Inn is sold-out thru their own website, so if the above is an option, you may want to reserve it now since it's cancellable and given that the vendor above only gets a limited number of rooms allocated to them)If either of the above are acceptable, do you still want to keep your maximum bid at $175 (or lower it based upon the lower price of your back-up hotel?... although currently i'm doubtful that $175 will be enough for a Resort property)Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise further. cruiser25 Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 Thanks for the advice. I guess if $ 175 is out of the question I will have to stay with my back up plan at least for the time being. I will check back later.
thereuare Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 I didn't say it was "out of the question", i said i was "doubtful".However, since you're not really happy with the reviews of the Normandie, why not consider the Holiday Inn as your back-up? It's less expensive and better reviewed. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cruiser25 Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 What do you think of the possibility of a 3 star in SJU? Any strategy for this bid? I am willing to go up to 150 or so.Thanks.
thereuare Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Any reply to our own question (asked twice):However, since you're not really happy with the reviews of the Normandie, why not consider the Holiday Inn as your back-up? It's less expensive and better reviewed. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cruiser25 Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 For now I guess I will stay put at the Normandie. In the end with the fees on EasyClickTravel it is about the same. I will try again in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for the advice.
thereuare Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 I don't get it...The reviews of the Holiday Inn are far better than that of the Normandie and you state that you're not really happy with your back-up at the Normandie... so why stick with it? :)PS- EasyClickTravel doesn't charge any booking fees Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
