I have attempted to find a four (4) star hotel in the midtown area (upper, west & east) on Priceline using bids between $200-$275. I have been unsuccesful. Any advise on how to better my chances? My travel dates are fixed. Is my price unrealistic? Or am I just getting hit by the Friday night extra cost?

Would it make any sence to make two bids for trip, one for the 26-28 and one for the 29th? I might be willing to change hotels if I can save a good amount of $$.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

If you go to Quickbook (please use this link) you can book the recently opened 6 Columbus Circle for $268/nite (for a very small room) or $294 for a larger room... reviews have been very positive. The first two nites of your stay are just $199/$219 respectively if you want do want to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID.

If you don't mind a Downtown location, the Gild Hall has had a lot of hype surrouding it and currently go thru a 'soft opening' (so exepct some amenities to not be available) but is available for just $219/nite for your entire stay... given the cost may be a very good value.

Please use our Quickbook link to begin any purchases you make.

Will either of these work for your needs?

Thanks for the advice. I am coming into town to do the typical tourst crap, so that is why I was focusing on Midtown and the Times square. Is the Gild Hall too far away for my visit? I don't mind taking mass transit or cabs, just dont want to waste bunch of time moving around the city to only save a few bucks.

If I was to split my priceline bid, you mentioned I would expect to pay around $200-220, what about the last night (Friday)?

The 6 Columbus Circle looks very good. Looks like it would be best to by from Quickbook?

To me quality of hotel is most important. I was really hoping to keep the today under $900, but don't want to bad stay or bad location.

Thanks

The Gild will put you pretty far south, and i think i have found a good plan:

12/26-12/28:

6 Columbus thru Quickbook for $199/nite

12/28-12/29:

Fitzpatrick Grand Central thru Quickbook for $299/nite

Gives you two very nice hotels, each has a great location, and you come in well below the goal for your maximum budget.

PLEASE use our Quickbook link for each purchase (ie- click our Quickbook link to make the first purchase, then return here and click our link again to begin your second purchase)

Does that work?

Thanks so much for the help. I decided to stay all three nights at the 6 Columbus Hotel and save the hassle of changing hotels, afterall it was only $100 cheaper since Quickbook was offering 10% off one three nights or more, so I paid $179/179/445 for each night.

I used the Quickbook link, hopefully you getting some revenue for refering.

Thanks again,

Mike
