hannahmont Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Based on what others had gotten in Logan area, I tried $65 for 4*, rejected. Bid again, added 3* and upped bid to $67. I'm assuming this is the case because it's during the winter holiday time. I figure I'll have to go up substantially in price, but I really don't want to.I don't want to go down to 2.5* if I can avoid it. Any suggestions? I was thinking of selecting an area of Boston that is very unlikely to accept my bid just to give myself another chance at bidding. For example, once when getting a hotel in downtown L.A., I added Beverly Hills because I knew that my price would never be accepted there. Do you think this strategy could work in Boston? Which area should I add? Thanks!
thereuare Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 I was thinking of selecting an area of Boston that is very unlikely to accept my bid just to give myself another chance at bidding. This NOT recommended... especially when you have over 6 weeks before your stay.As well, it's generally not recommended to raise your bid and lower your star rating at the same time. See this thread for more info: If You Lower Your Star Quality Then Lower Your Bid.What is your maximum bid at the 4* level? What is your maximum bid at the 3* level?
