dealboy Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 First time using priceline with betterbidding assistance! Was able to book Benson at $80/night beginning Dec 28. Thanks. While happy with my purchase, I noted that 4* on Priceline is a 3.5* on Expedia are there always these inconsistencies? If I bid a higher amount would I always get the lowest 4* from Priceline which is probaby a 3.5* on Expedia/elsewhere? Thanks again, great offering.
thereuare Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your win and thank you for sharing it with the board. The star rating issue is that there is no industry standard for what constitutes a 3*, 3.5*, 4* etc. Priceline doesn't use a 3.5* in their rating system, so assuming this should be a 3.5* hotel, it would need to either be a 3* or 4* thru Priceline. If you bid higher you wouldn't necessarily get the same hotel... nor would you necessarily get a 'better' hotel. This thread may explain it better and shed some light on how the algorithm works: Don't Bid Higher for a Specific HotelGlad to hear the board was helpful in your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
