TIM V Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 Thinking of going to NYC for new years but looking at hotels and prices in the city I would rather take the transit into the city than pay $300 a night..We are thinking of going for 2 nights Dec 30th and 31st, so I need some advice for priceline. I wouldnt mind staying in Meadowlands area/jersey city areas. A bidding strategy I guess and what price is realistic in paying. Also what price do you think you could get for new years in the city? just curiousI also found this hotel on hotwire 3-star hotel in Secaucus - Meadowlands This midscale establishment offers more than just the basics in style, comfort and customer service. See hotel details Amenties: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Golf Nearby, high speed internetIs this the sheraton meadowlands? would that be good for $79/night plus tax?any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance
thereuare Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 I'm doubtful that is the Sheraton. If it is, it would be an excellent deal for these dates. Some hotels will not likely offer the opaque suppliers inventory for these dates (of if they do, it will not be discounted much) if they believe they can sell the rooms themselves. It sounds as if this is a trip you're simply considering at this point. Once you decide that you're commited to this trip let us know the best deal you're able to find thru conventional methods (use our BetterChecker to help in your search) and we'll take it from there.Thanks. TIM V Posted December 7, 2007 Author Report Posted December 7, 2007 any idea what hotel it might be if its not the sheraton? just talked to the gf and we have decided to go for those 2 nights for sure.
thereuare Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Upon further research i see that the Sheraton is no longer showing a Laundry icon, thus making it a match for the above, and that would be our best guess. If correct, the one issue i see with this is that to get to this hotel via mass transit you need to take their shuttle to the nearby bus stop... but i think their regular schedule is tha that the shuttle's last run is about 10pm (i could be wrong on this though)Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. TIM V Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 I ended up not going on this trip, and didnt bid.
