nico79 Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 Hi to everybody,I found this forum through my research for hotwire deals. First of all: WOW. Impressive work :) Now I have a question:I found a 4* MTE on Hotwire, Dec. 17th-23rd, $ 202 per night, Restaurant, Business, High-Speed Internet.Did I get this right that this one is not identified? Or, could it be anyone? Do they sometimes "hide" details,so it could also be one that usually also shows fitness or something? Also, a 3.5* Times Square, same time, $204 per night, Boutique, Fitness, High-Speed Internet. From whatI found here, I think it should be the CrownPlaza. Or am I wrong?4* Midtown Central, same time, $222, CUSTOMER FAVORITE; would this be the Sheraton? Finally, 3,5*, MTE, same time, $205, Boutique, Fitness, Business, High-Speed-Internet. Hotel 57?Sorry for all these question, but I never booked through hotwire, and trying to understand the system of this forum. I alreadyhave a hotel for this time in NYC, but it seems to be pretty shady from what I saw on tripadvisor :) , and its really cheap to cancel....In general, would it make sense to book something now on hotwire, or even wait longer? Are offers getting better the closeryou get to the travel dates? Thanks to everybody already.Nico
thereuare Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!4* MTE on Hotwire, Dec. 17th-23rd, $ 202 per night, Restaurant, Business, High-Speed Internet.Did I get this right that this one is not identified? Or, could it be anyone? Do they sometimes "hide" details,so it could also be one that usually also shows fitness or something? This property has not yet been identified. Amenities do change, so it's possible that this hotel has already been reproted but with different amenities than previously seen or that it is a new hotel in the system. Also, a 3.5* Times Square, same time, $204 per night, Boutique, Fitness, High-Speed Internet. From whatI found here, I think it should be the CrownPlaza. Or am I wrong?I don't believe this to be the Crowne Plaza... it matches the Hotel Mela so that would be our best guess.4* Midtown Central, same time, $222, CUSTOMER FAVORITE; would this be the Sheraton? What are the amenities associated with this property? Finally, 3,5*, MTE, same time, $205, Boutique, Fitness, Business, High-Speed-Internet. Hotel 57?Hotel 57 would be our best guess too. However, i found the following which i think may offer better value than the above:Eastgate Tower for $193/nite and gets very good reviews.Tudor Hotel for $193/niteBoth of the two above are cancellable up until a few days before your stay so if you do choose to wait i'd at least book one of them as a back-up. As far as "when to purchase" see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.If you go with any of the hotwire offerings please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make. If you book one of the other two please use the links provided.Let us know your thoughts on the above or if we can be of further help. nico79 Posted December 7, 2007 Author Report Posted December 7, 2007 4* Midtown Central, same time, $222, CUSTOMER FAVORITE; would this be the Sheraton? What are the amenities associated with this property? The amenities are "only" restaurant, business, high-speed internet. Thanks already for your guesses of the Mela and the Hotel 57. On Tripadvisor, both dont get thatpositive reviews, at least for their *s... :) I already have a backup hotel that I can cancel for one more week, so I will try to find a betterbargain. Maybe I will also start bidding through Priceline, however, I got to read some more abouttheir system, and I actually dont feel too good about using it. I dont want to end up with a mess :)

nico79 Posted December 7, 2007 Author Report Posted December 7, 2007 Milford Plaza at TimeSquare. Its about 1,226 Dollars. And looks like a peace of crap in some customers pics on Tripadvisor.... :)

The Milford Plaza is not a hotel i would recommend if you have other options avialable. My point is that if you really don't want to stay at the Milford Plaza, why not change your back-up to a hotel that is acceptable (ie- either of the hotels above). They're just about the same price as the Milford Plaza, cheaper than the HOTWIRE hotels you've asked about above, and have very good reviews. At the verly least it will give you a nicer place to stay which gets good reviews (unlike the Milford Plaza) and gives you a realistic 'price to beat'. nico79 Posted December 12, 2007 Author Report Posted December 12, 2007 Hi,I got a 4* offer at Time Square, Dec 17th to 23rd, 204$ per Night.Hotel offers Fitness, Restaurant, Business, Internet.Additional information is 4 of 5 points on Tripadvisor, 340+ customer reviews on TripAdvisor, Last review Nov 2007.All this fits very well to the Millenium Broadway, doesnt it? :o Seems like a good offer? :) Also:Dec 17th-23rd, 4* Downtown SoHo, Fitness, Restaurant, Pool, Business, Internet$ 206 a night -> The Millenium Hilton?? :) Thanks,Nico
