Hi, I'm looking for a 4* in Buckhead 2/15/08 - 2/17/08. I have rebid up to $110 with no luck, although I have never seen a 4* in Buckhead go for that much. Is it possible that the JW, Intercontinental, and Grand Hyatt have not put any rooms up for Priceline yet? How far in advance do these hotels usually end up on priceline? I saw a Buckhead 4* on Hotwire for $149 on those dates, so I'm pretty surprised $110 didn't win something on Priceline. Thanks for the help.

Using our BetterChecker, rates are much higher than usual for the above dates... each of the hotels above are well over $300/nite, making your current bid less than a third of traditional rates.

Valentines Day (2/14) is on a Thursday and perhaps the hotels are expecting guests to make a long weekend out of it and therefore increasing rates for the time being?

I was thinking that too. I checked some bids from Feb 2007 and saw that the weekend after Valentines day people were scoring the intercontinental for $70-$80. Of course, Vday was a Wednesday last year and prices vary from year to year, so I guess I'll book a backup room that I can cancel and hope the price drops. The 4* on hotwire in buckhead for those dates has dropped from $149 to $145, so maybe it's a trend! Thanks for the help, I'll post results when I get something (using savingsbarn.com).
