Hi...I'm new to this. I'm looking for a hotel for a good rate close to Times Square (i think that's considered Midtown West??). So Basically, I would love some suggestions for hotels to bid on and what price to bid for hotels close to Times Square (the closer the better). Thank you and I would really appreciate your help.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

To start, we'll need a bit more info...

What are the date(s) of your stay? What is your budget/maximum bid? What is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept?

Also, if you've never been to NYC before i'd urge you to read our comments regarding Hotels Near Times Square.

Let us know the above and if you're willing to accept other zones besides MTW and we'll take it from there.

Hi,

I guess I must have forgotten to give you all the details. Thanks for sending me the link to the description of the NY zones. I think we would prefer either Midtown West or Midtown East (i think preferably midtown west but based on your advice, it probably doesn't matter). Dates are for February 8th to February 12th (4 nights). Price maximum would be $200/night for standard room with 2 double beds with minimum star rating of 3.

Thanks so much for your help.

...for standard room with 2 double beds with minimum star rating of 3.

You can not designate a room with two beds with priceline... is this a want or a need? Are you more than double occupancy or just want/need separate beds for two people?

Hi. So if we want double beds we aren't guaranteed double beds? Right now, we are 2 people who really want double beds. But we also want the option to have double beds in case one other friend joins us. Does this affect the bid?

Does this affect the bid?

Yes, on a few fronts...

1) you can't choose the bedding configuration of the room. See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ for more info.

2) priceline only guarantees double occupancy. There is a chance you could even receive a room with one bed, and given this is NYC, no room for a rollaway (ie- NYC hotel rooms are notoriously small). If you're looking for triple occupancy there are other options, but priceline may not be the best one. HOTWIRE does allow you to search for up to quad occupancy, but in NYC this will often limit your offerings (since many rooms are only slated for double occupancy) and may also increase the price.

When will you know if you will be double/triple occupancy?

I'm not sure..but I definately want to book for more than double occupancy and some hotels in NY don't even have rooms with 2 double beds. Just to clarify, there is no way to specify more than double occupancy with Priceline? Does this mean Priceline is not an option for me?

If you must be guaranteed a room with two beds than priceline is probably not a good option for you.

I definately want to book for more than double occupancy
If you may only be double occupancy, why would you want to book for more than double occupancy? Why not wait until your plans (and the number of people) are firm?

There are other options, but you should really confirm your plans and the number of poeple you need to accomodate, as well as your budget, in order for us to be able to best be able to help.
