TrueNorth Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 I'm looking at booking 2 rooms for February 15 to 18th and want to stay on the north strip at a 4*. I'm looking at spending $150 - $170 per night, per room. I noticed that Treasure Island is the only hotel listed matching this description and they are currently asking around $230 per night. We don't really want to have to move during our stay.Any advice or suggestions would be suggested before we try and start bidding? Thanks alot.
thereuare Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! Is it important what the HOTWIRE hotel is? (because i just did a search for your dates and the hotel i'm being shown for your dates i don't believe is the Treasure Island)If you're ready to try bid regardless of the hotel offered on HOTWIRE, and given the lenght of time before your stya, i would try as follows:You have two re-bid zones avaialble at the 4* level (NOTE: Summerlin is not one of them) If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* North Strip...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* North Strip and re-bid zone2...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $140.I would also advise expanding beyond the Strip North zone (also including the South Strip zone if that would work well for your plans as well) as it would give you many more bidding opportunities as well as expand the number of hotels willing to accept your bid (but also note that the South zone includes the Westin, which is slighly off-strip, so you'd need to be comfortable with that property as well)Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
