Perfectly happy with Residence Inn as I like their product. I am sure I could have paid $90 for a 4* but why bother. It will be myself and 5 yr old daughter in one of the rooms. This way i should get a bedroom to myself.

of note, renovations in hotel during stay as noted on marriott.com

You're very lucky that you got the Residence and not the Tremont (a 2.5* in the RN/NMA area, as well.) The Residence rarely comes up, but it's a very nice Residence in a terrific location. It's essentially a couple of blocks behind the Hancock Tower and Water Tower Mall.

One recommendation: ask if they have a North-facing room on one of the top couple of floors. You may - as I did - get a room with a partial (but pretty) lake view. Rooms on lower floors won't have a view aside from the residential high-rises/offices on the street. The breakfast is served in a nice room off the lobby area.

If you have any questions about the hotel or area, please feel free to ask.
