zellmo Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Hi there, Looking at Hotwire, 1 night, pre-cruise. 1/25/08 San Juan 3.5* near beach ocean frontcasinofitness centerpool(s) restaurant(s)business centerlaundry facilities 4*resortbeach frontcasinofittness centerpool(s)restaurant(s)business centerlaundry facilities I was trying to figure out which hotels they were. I have been Cruising for years. I just came across your site on Cruise Critic. I wish I found this a long time ago. Great site!!!! Thanks
thereuare Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the site :) )HOTWIRE will only show the first eight amenity icons on the 'splash' page. If you run your HOTWIRE search again and click "continue" or "hotel details" for each of the above, do you see more than the eight amenities that you've listed above?Let us know the complete set of HOTWIRE amenities for each and we'll try to help you ID them.PS- since you cruise a lot, also see/be aware of our sister site: HotelsByThePier Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
zellmo Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 3.5* near beach ocean frontcasinofitness centerpool(s) restaurant(s)business centerlaundry facilitiesgolf nearbytennis nearbyspa services 4*resortbeach frontcasinofittness centerpool(s)restaurant(s)business centerlaundry facilitieshigh speed internetgolf nearbytennis nearbyspa services I didn't realize that Thanks again.
thereuare Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 The 4* is a match for the El San Juan while the 3.5* is a match for the Condado Plaza, so that would be our best guess for each. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
zellmo Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 Thanks, They both look good. I was checking out the Priceline route also. Do you think I would make out better quality and price wise? Mike
thereuare Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 It depends what you're looking for...Priceline is usually a little chepaer than hotwire, but HOTWIRE gives you the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you will receive. So it comes down to whether price is the most important factor, or trying to target (or avoid) a particular hotel. Another factor in the priceline vs HOTWIRE decision is occupancy... priceline only guarantees double occupancy while HOTWIRE enables you to search for up to quad occupancy. zellmo Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 Thanks a lot, I will probably go with HOTWIRE then. I'll let you know what happens.
zellmo Posted December 1, 2007 Author Report Posted December 1, 2007 Thereuare, I ended up using HOTWIRE. It was wierd, I signed on through Better Bidding and got a price of $235. I signed out and went back using AOL. This time I entered only 1 adult, and got a price of $215. I logged of, then signed on again, for 2 adults. I got the $215 price again, so I took it. I did get the Condado Plaza Hotel and Casino. Thanks again for your help, I am happy with what I got. Mike
thereuare Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Congratulations on your success... glad to hear you're happy with the results.HOTWIRE uses a variable mark-up which is why you see different prices on different searches. Thanks for using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay (and cruise).
