NYCFan Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Thought I'd share my failed priceline bids for NYC Thanksgiving weekend - it may help others.I began bidding on Nov 4 and bid almost every day until Nov 13. I bid certain zones first but ended up including all zones. I was looking to stay Nov 23 & 24 (2 nights).Below are the dates I placed my priceline bids:-Nov 4 - 4* $150 all zonesNov 5 - 4* $160 all zonesNov 6 - 4* $175 all zonesNov 7 - 4* $195 all zonesNov 9 - 4* $210 all zonesNov 10 - 4* $220 all zonesNov 11 - 4* $230 all zones, 3* $150 all zonesNov 12 - 4* $240 all zones, 3* $160 all zonesNov 13 - 4* $250 all zones, 3* $170 all zonesALL OF THESE BIDS WERE REJECTED.So then I got to thinking and followed the Quikbook link from this site and ended up booking The Hotel on Rivington for $295 plus taxes per night. I felt that if I was going to continue bidding higher I'd like to know which hotel I would be staying at before hand. Anyway I'm looking forward to checking out the hotel on Rivington - I know the area, it may not be for everybody but we're going for the nightlife and of course more exploring of NYC.
thereuare Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Thanks for the info and for using our Quikbook link to begin your purchase.Do stop in at Economy Candy across the street from this hotel for a 'flashback' to all the candy from a previous time. Also, the chocolate covered grahm crackers (i'm not a fan of dark chocolate but am for these!!) are FANTASTIC!Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
