Priceline Hotel: London 4* Need Help for good Hotel to get engaged

Hi,

i booked flights to London from 15.-17.02.2008. In London i wantto become engaged to my girlfriend. So I need a very nice and good located Hotel. Can you recommend any 4* Hotels based on priceline.com and any bidding strategy to get the best price? That will be great.

Maybe worth splashing out on a 5* hotel?

Well I guess around 130$ per Night. If there is a chance for a 5* Hotel for this price - i'll take it :)

So i had a look to the zones and i think i would like to choose one of these:

Bloomsbury - Marble Arch

Kensington - Earls Court - Knightsbridge

Mayfair

Regents Park

The City and London Bridge

Is this your first visit to London?

Apart from proposing (where?) what else do you expect to be doing? The usual sight seeing\shopping?

Whereas no area is really 'bad' in London (location wise) as there is an extensive tube network (though it is undergoing a huge overhaul) I would only choose Earls Court if cost was a priority as several hotels tend to be at the Western edge of this large area near Olympia.

Likewise I would not choose The City and London Bridge as IMHO the hotels can be a bit out of the way.

Each to his own though.

i tried your stratagy but I didn't get any hotel. Any Idea? During the bid they gave me an offer for 118$/night in kensington. Is it worth? What hotel could it be? Should i try your stratagy tomorrow again?
