Hotwire Hotel: 4* Maui (Kaanapali) Westin

Hi, Newcomer here. I just checked previous hotwire thread on this board and found 4* Kaanapali Westin for 139 per night. I went to HOTWIRE and indeed it had the price was for $139. I fillied out the page with credit card info and names and hit the button to purchase and a page came back stating that the price was no longer valid. I went back and the price went from$139 to $212???

My question to you experts, do I try another day or is that it, I can no longer get the $139 price ever? The date was for 2-7-08.

I'd try to find a back-up hotel (a reservation which you can cancel) and continue to try HOTWIRE.

Have you considered bidding on priceline (at a very low rate)? Usually the inventory is priced similarly, but sometimes you can find an anomaly.

Given the time before your stay (you have a few months) i wouldn't give up hope just yet, but it all depends upon how actual demand/reservations for rooms come in relative to perceived demand/reservations.

Thanks for the welcome. I can see this site is great already. A little follow up, I was trying to get 2 rooms (for another couple with us). After posting here I went back to hotwire and just put one room in and BINGO, got it for $139. Big problem, went back to purchase another one room and the hotel is not listed at all. I have been trying all day but no luck. Any help to get the other couple

This early before your stay i would typically only recommend checking every few days, but since you already have a reservation for one room and are looking for another at the same property, i'd check every day.

If this hotel doens't appear again on HOTWIRE, what si your gameplan... are you and the other couple willing to stay at different hotels?

Yes, the other couple is cool with staying in another hotel and they have a reservation (non pre-paid) at the Best Western in Lahina (for $169 I think). We took your sugestion on having a back up plan but I will continue to check HOTWIRE (through the link here) for them to join us at the Westin.
