Just wondering if you can help identify this property: 3* Times Square-Theatre District with amenities of Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, and Hi-Speed Internet. I don'[t see a match for it on the HOTWIRE hotel list.

Thanks!

Unfortunately this property has not yet been identified.

If you do book the above please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.

At about the same price, you could book the Paramount thru GTA Hotels for $320/nite and know exactly where you'll be staying.

While researching the above, i found some really attractive deals for the last 2 nites of your stay (much cheaper than the previous nites)... is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Thanks for responding. Yes if need be we could split our stay, but of course would rather not. Due to the high costs of NYC hotels during the holidays, I may not have a choice but to do so. Of course I would prefer to stay under $300 at a 4*, but that might not happen either.

What were the "attractive deals for the last 2 nites" that you found?

For the first three nites thru Quikbook:

Fitzpatrick Grand Central $369/nite

Affinia Dumont $396/nite

For the last two nites (also thru Quickbook):

6 Columbus Circle for $225/nite

Beekman Tower for $229/nite

Combining the two above will get you close to your $300/nite target ($311/nite plus taxes) and put you in some very nice hotels (imo). As well, the above are cancellable, so you can book these and continue to try the opaque providers to see if anything better opens up.

If you book the above, please use our Quickbook link for each purchase (ie- click our link to Quickbook and make your first purchase... then return here and click our link again to begin your second purchase)

Let us know your thoughts if the above works for your needs and we'll take it from there.

Thanks so much! I'll check that out. HOTWIRE came out with some pretty decent rates for the last 2 nights of my stay which makes me think that I might do pretty well if I bid PRICELINE splitting my stay. But the Quikbook options that are cancelable certainly would give me some security. I will definitely use the links on this site and will keep you posted.

I am in need of some advice from some of you pros out there. I have been bidding PRICELINE for over a week now with no luck for 12/13-12/16. I started my bids at $250 and went up to $350 for MTW, MTE, CPS, and MTS. I really did not want to go over $300 but realize that this being prime time with Xmas that I might have to. I can't even find a decent back-up. Part of the problem is that I will need 2 beds as there are 2 of us on the 13th and then 3 on the 14th & 15th. If anyone has any bright ideas please let me know, because I don't even have a back-up reservation. Yikes!

Wouldn't recommend Priceline for 2 beds, as the service doesn't guarantee 2 beds and probably no where else is that more true than NYC.

Otherwise, these are tough dates. The Eastgate Tower is $344 for a studio suite on Orbitz.

A basic hotel/property called Sutton Place Suites is $280 on Expedia for 1 double/1 sofabed with kitchen Location seems good and rooms appear large, but seems like the basics in terms of amenities (hence the 2* rating)

Marriott Financial Center is $329 on Expedia if you don't mind being downtown. Additionally, the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge is also $299. Both get very good reviews, but would put you out of the way.

Thereuare will likely be able to suggest others, but these are things I spotted while looking just now.

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

Since you're original request was for 12/13-12/18, but you're now asking for help for just 12/13-12/16, are you shortening your stay by 2 days or have you already booked a hotel for the last 2 nites of your stay?

Sorry about that. I thought that since I was asking about PRICELINE that I needed to post there. Actually I am going to be in NYC through the 18th but I have a reservation that I got through a TRAVELZOO promotion for the Warwick on the 16th and 17th, for $205/night. I was noticing such a rate drop for most all properties, for the last 2 days of my stay, so figured it would be better to split there. And since this can be cancelled up until 24 hours prior, I could still bid PRICELINE for those 2 days and maybe get something even lower than $205.

When I made the original posts I thought there were only 2 of us going, and right after thereuare responded with the Quikbook properties I found that it was going to be 3 in our party, and those properties were only going to work for 2.

AaronJB thanks for your suggestions. I had seen the Eastgate rate on Orbitz and almost booked it today, because things don't look to be improving, and with no back-up reservation for the 13-16th, that makes me a little nervous. I would prefer to not have to go downtown or further if at all possible, and it is looking like the chances of not having to pay over $300 may not materialize. I'm not familiar with either the Eastgate or Sutton Place Suites either. I have always stayed in 4* properties, but it is not looking like that is going to happen this time unless I want to cough up the big bucks! It would be nice to at least have a reservation that could be cancelled if something came through the last week, as often does on both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE, but that is pretty risky for this time of year in NYC.

Thanks for your hep and I'll keep you posted.

Just realized I had never followed up with what I ended up with. With 2 weeks prior to leaving, I found a rate on HOTWIRE for Midtown South $319, and since I had not seen anything that cheap went ahead and booked it for the first 3 nights, 12/13-12/16. I got the Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden. I already had the TRAVELZOO rate at the Warwick for the 16th and 17th. Needless to say this trip was a mess from the beginning. We flew out when there was a snowstorm in the East and our flight out of Chicago got cancelled. Long story short we did make it there late that night, but AA lost our luggage and when we got to the hotel to check in they had booked us into a smoking room even though I had called the hotel the day I booked it to stipulate that I needed 2 beds and non-smoking. ( This is a perfect example of the gamble you take with booking HOTWIRE since they do not guarantee your request for non smoking.) We were without any luggage for 3 days in a stinky room and they could not move us b/c the hotel was full. The rooms are very tiny and I would not call this hotel a 3*, but it was nice to have a free breakfast. We were very glad to get to the Warwick for our last 2 nights.

This property generally gets favorable reviews, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay.

I'm surprised that the hotel wouldn't move you the following day... surely somebody was checking out of a non-smoking room.

Can you please add the amenities that were shown before your purchase... you can still view them by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top of their home page.

Thanks.
